Talking Headlines - by Bill Green

BAD BUSH

November 6th 2006 23:47
The US votes this week. As scandals of impropriety and immorality abound Republicans are having their own stones thrown back at them as they can no longer live in glass houses and preach about their version of morality while living double lives. As we all know the US is all about smoke and mirrors. However the paradoxical thing about the US is that clarity catches up with them at sometime eg Watergate, Monicagate. If the polls are correct the Republican Party are set to lose control of the House of Representatives.

The Democrats will then go to town. The first thing the Democrats will do is open a congressional investigation into the conduct of the White House. They will dig to see if George W and his colleagues have behaved unethically, immorally, and illegally. What really was behind going to war with Iraq? What's going on in Guantanamo Bay? What inhumane treatment have they measured out to prisoners? And will there will be a stench of corruption that involves money, big money?

When these questions are answered it will be a huge historical moment in history as the Bush Republican government will be scrutinized and held to account.

Spoken just like someone who doesn't live in the U.S.

Side note: U.S. is not synonymous with America. You may take notice that there are other countries that make up the continents of North and South America. Don't you really mean U.S. when you are speaking about America?

Dear Anonymous,
Thank-you for your comment. I will take on board those clarifications. Even though I don't live in the U.S we are effected by its policies, and after all we are all global citizens.
However you make an important point, one can never fully understand another countries nuances, politics and culture eg Iraq.

Thank you, Sophie!

Perhaps, we will also look at our own government once there's no more American arse to kiss!

Look at the Fijians following the Thai and staging a coup. The people are finally realising we should be responsible for the way our countries are run!

The Democrats should notice things as the scrutinize the Dubya administration.
(1) The Vice President got by with shooting a man.
(2) The Dubya guy got by with starting an unendable war by claiming he could find WMDs. He found none because there were none.
(3) The Secretary of State tried to talk Dubya out of starting the war but failed.

The Dems have a lot of fodder for their cannon.
