Israel is frightening the daylights out of Palestinian kids ... and killing some too.
This must surely end the sympathy that Israeli Jews have had from the rest of the world for the holocaust. Israel is living the cliche that the oppressed always rebound from violent oppression with violence.
The leadership didn't take the advice of their first leader, Ben Gurion, who warned them not to invade the West Bank or Gaza because, conflict would then never end. The bloody vengeance they are inflicting on the Palestinians, who are just as stupid and stubborn, is awful for those growing up in the area they want to turn to rubble.
Why are they reacting so strongly? Because they're frightened. Hey, we've all been seriously frightened at some time or other, but imagine the kids who are growing up with the killing of friends and relatives. They will be just as vengeful as the Israelis for what happened to their people

it is tragic, saddening, grotesque and maddening, that just as both sides draw near to a detente, some one throws a bomb or shoots a rocket, or demolishes a house killing innocents.
The Palestinian situation is amde all the owrse because of the control Israel has over the population's movements and supplies, which when severely restricted, makes them want to strike back, and so it goes on.
When America stops giving Israel one and a hald billion US dollars a year, to do with it as they iwsh, maybe then, Israel will stop and think about a true and lasting peace as being achievable.
In the meantime, who could blame Israel, or any country, for allowing the perpetuation of these terrible events when they get such massive funds every year?
Having Israelies in my family, through marriage, I see both sides to this, and know many want a peace to be brokered.
That will not be achieved until both funds are restricted and the 'hawks' on both sides are made to take a back seat.

Apart from that I'm distressed by the little kids being bombarded and killed. The surviving kids will never recover from the fear except with psychological backlash.

and the awful bomblets problem, when a large bomb detonates mid air to release hundreds of smaller bombs, landing on ground to explode when picked up or bumped, and they are a shiny silver, attractive to bored kids.
These flachette bombs should be banned, as I wrote in a post ages ago...but no one wants to listen, and as you say, the terrible cost is on the kids and then they grow up with all the resentments they need to become 'freedom' fighters and it starts all over again.
